By Angela Nason

A simple family favourite
There’s nothing quite like homemade pizza. This easy dough is soft, tasty, and perfect for topping with all your favourites. Once the dough is made, just let it rise, roll it out, add your toppings, and bake until golden.

Method
Make the Dough
-
In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
-
Add the olive oil and warm water.
-
Mix until a dough starts to form.
-
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
-
Knead for around 5–10 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and soft.
-
Place the dough back into a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a tea towel or plastic wrap.
-
Leave it in a warm spot to rise for 30–60 minutes, or until it has roughly doubled in size.
Shape the Pizza
-
Once risen, punch the dough down gently.
-
Fold it over a couple of times, then roll it out to your preferred pizza shape and thickness.
-
Place the dough onto a greased or lined pizza tray.
Add the Toppings
-
Spread a layer of tomato paste over the base.
-
Top with ham, pineapple, mushrooms, spring onions, spinach, and grated cheese.
Bake
-
Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for around 15–20 minutes, or until the base is cooked and the cheese is melted and golden.
Serving Idea
Slice and serve hot straight from the oven for an easy lunch, dinner, or weekend family meal.
